November 2008 - MARBEN™ Diameter goes v2.0


Marben Products unveils MARBEN™ Diameter v2.0, a new major release of its acknowledged IP multimedia Subsystem (IMS) AAA product.

MARBEN™ Diameter v2.0 release brings more IMS up-to-date features:

  • with the addition of 3GPP release 7 support, MARBEN™ Diameter covers the full range of deployed 3GPP releases,
  • support for convergence and converged network with 3 new 3GPP and TISPAN interfaces: Gq, Gq' and e2. With these new interfaces MARBEN™ Diameter empowers its users with policy functions and extends IMS reach to wireline networks.
  • Interoperability improvements following interoperability tests and field operation.
This release is available on the most widely used UNIX platforms operating telecom services, namely RedHat 5.0, Solaris 9 and 10, HP-UX 11.23. It is also available on Windows for handy development or operation.

October 23, 2008 - Marben Products at MPLS2008: Isocore Interop testing


For the first time in Fall 2008, GMPLS controlled Ethernet Label Switching has been introduced in the LEC interoperability testing. Ethernet has been dominant in the enterprise and data network for a long time. Wide-scale MAN and WAN deployments is made possible with the Provider Backbone Bridge (PBB) and the new IEEE 802.1Qay Provider Backbone Bridge – Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE) amendments of the Ethernet bridging standard. Operators are considering the use of PBB-TE connection oriented Ethernet in access and aggregation networks. It seems a natural step to use GMPLS to provision and reconfigure PBB-TE connections in Ethernet networks.

Marben Products once again successfully participated in the Isocore interop testing around next generation Carrier Grade Ethernet. This event took place in the Isocore Lab October 23, 2008 in front of major equipment vendors.

Marben Products successfully created LSPs through different network elements. All combinations of initiating and terminating nodes were used to successfully create bidirectional LSPs. The new Ethernet Traffic Parameter SENDER_TSPEC object was used to specify distinct bandwidth requirements for multiple CoS and OAM parameters were signalled in LSP_ATTRIBUTES object of some of the PATH messages. Full path rerouting was even demonstrated by simulating data plane failure on the egress node.

June 2008 - MARBEN™ OSIAM-GMPLS v3.3 is now released


Marben Products unveils MARBEN™ OSIAM-GMPLS v3.3, a new minor release of its acknowledged networking protocols suite.

Control plane features are now on the field, with successful new services and major interop references.

The new v1.1 release offers new powerful features such as:

  • OIF UNI v1. 0- V2.0 / E-NNI Controllers v1.0 as pre-integrated OIF interfaces
  • Extensions of the High Availability interface to the whole LSP database which conforms to the latest SAF checkpoint spec interface.

February 2008 - MARBEN™ PCE v1.0 is now released


Marben Products unveils the first commercial software implementation of Path Computation Element communication protocol (PCECP). PCE protocol is standardized at IETF. PCE architecture solves many issues as using multi constraints complex path computation algorithms, global concurrency optimization or inter-domain routing. This PCE reliable implementation enables a quick and interoperable implementation of a PCE server or PCC functions in any MSxP equipment. It saves your time to develop differentiating features.

November 2007 - MARBEN™ Diameter v1.1 is now released

Marben Products unveils MARBEN™ Diameter v1.1, a new version of its acknowledged AAA product for IMS.

IMS acceptance is growing fast and IMS architecture deployment move from limited prototypes to commercial service openings. This new MARBEN™ Diameter release brings technical and functional enhancements required by operation of revenue-generating services in carrier networks.

The new v1.1 release introduces a rich set of new features:

  • The 3GPP Cx/Dx interfaces for allowing CSCF to HSS Authentication/Authorization dialog.
  • An extension of its real time charging capability by fully supporting the Credit Control Application (RFC 4006) and the possibility of mixing event based and session based charging. This new Credit Control Application allows authenticating to an AAA authentication server and is exposed through a dedicated API.
  • An update to 3GPP release 6 for all supported interfaces.
  • The support for High Availability active/standby mode of operation. MARBEN™ Diameter HA support has been designed to easily fit in already existing customer HA framework. MARBEN™ Diameter can be integrated in existing customer HA environment or application using the HA framework in place and without imposing any constraints for HA operation.
  • Performance enhancement and scalability with the support of multithreading and multiprocessing environment.
  • A new level of security by supporting IPsec and TLS to secure peer-to-peer communication.

Marben Products Proves Vendor Interoperability at IMS Plugfest III Event

Marben Products proved vendor compatibility at the IMS Forum's IMS Plugfest™ III interoperability test event held October 15-19 at IMS Interoperability Lab at UNH.
Marben Products tested its MARBEN™ Diameter stack embedded in a newly developed HSS simulator. Through the HSS Simulator, MARBEN™ Diameter has successfully tested full implementation of the Cx and Sh Diameter interfaces against participants CSCF's, applications servers and other testing equipment.

Marben Products to participate in IMS Plugfest III

Marben Products, an affiliate of NE Technologies, reasserts its commitment to IMS and its standards by participating in the third IMS PlugFest, the IMS interoperability test event organized by the IMS Forum and the Interoperability Laboratory of the University of New Hampshire (UNH-IOL)

As IMS momentum increases, the latest PlugFest III event continues to expand its scope and level of testing. This event will cover network level testing, complex and up-to-date IMS services like Fix Mobile Convergence Call, presence services, IP PBX, as well as revenue generating services like IPTV.

Marben Products at OIF Worldwide Interoperability Demonstration 2007


Marben Products will participate in the OIF’s 2007 Worldwide Interoperability Demonstration - On-Demand Ethernet Services. The Forum's third worldwide interoperability test and demonstration will be conducted simultaneously in China, Japan, France, Germany, Italy and the United States.
The demonstration will highlight network-interoperable solutions among participating vendors employing OIF implementation agreements and will address UNI Ethernet Private Line (EPL) Services with support over SONET/SDH core networks. A public demonstration of the event will be on display September 17-19 at ECOC 2007 in Berlin, OIF Booth #17085.
