While Telecom service providers were migrating from ATM to MPLS based aggregation, MPLS standard has moved inside to invade the core transport Network. MPLS-TP extensions have been recently the main focus in SDOs to push MPLS principles into the core network with its simplicity and its low cost and in the meantime increase the OAM facilities for such revolutionary packet based protocol.
