MPLS/MPLS-TP control plane

Marben has designed a true GMPLS based MPLS-TP control plane. This contol plane is conformant with the regular control plane used for many years now in MPLS domain based on RSVP-TE and Traffic Engineering database but also compatible with MPLS-TP requirements. The MARBEN implementation is the sole implementation capable to handle all the recovery scenario that is required for MPLS-TP and keep it simple to provide the regular MPLS scenario. Equipment vendor can protect their investment in a long term relationship.

Marben is closely involved in the MPLS-TP standards process. MARBEN GMPLS implementation already supports the features to build a device with an MPLS-TP capable control plane in its first version with T-MPLS and its now converged framework.

Features benefits

MARBEN MPLS/GMPLS for MPLS-TP is built to offer a high level interface programmatic interface that enables:

• the auto provisioning of Uni and bi-directional Path with asymmetric bandwidth as designed in RFC 3473 and RFC 6387,
• the resiliency thanks to the full set of Protection and recovery scenario ( pre planned, 1+1, M:N, segment recovery),
• the OAM management.

Carrier grade

The MARBEN implementation is carrier grade thanks to dedicated features and quality of development:

• Graceful restart mechanism is applied to all protocols and integrated offer,
• High availability interface thanks to checkpoint services of all data stored in LSP and TE database,
• Universal management interface that can be plugged to any management agent with set/get/rollback functions.

Simple and modular architecture

Marben is reusing its long experience on networking protocols design and porting for this offer. This control plane offer is also integrating within the pseudo wire control plane and the PCE architecture.

Marben is adding further enhancements to meet the newest MPLS-TP standards that converges now at IETF. This allows our customers to deliver MPLS-TP capable devices at the earliest opportunity.
