CDR Collection

Call Detail Record (CDR) Collection is at the front of the whole usage valuation and billing chain. It feeds the whole Telecom Service Provider's BSS with usage and charging information it collects from the various switches and network elements. The CDR Collection is a really strategic investment for telecom operators and must be reliable and efficient to assure complete and timely revenues.

MARBEN CDR Collection

The usage data collection is at the border between carrier's network and billing system. Mastering all networking aspects requires completely different knowledge and expertise from the ones used in rating, billing or any derived processing of usage data.

The MARBEN CDR Collection bridges the gap between the network of telephone switches and the billing system. It deals with retrieving the Call Detail Records from the switches network (fixed or mobile) and passing them through to the billing system or any other downstream applications of the Telco information system.

The MARBEN CDR Collection is aimed at hiding the details and complexity of the communication with the network of switches and appearing as a single source of CDR data to the mediation and billing system. It is a stand-alone application that comes within the mediation and billing system.

With MARBEN CDR Collection, Marben Products addresses the needs of all actors in the area of Call Detail Record, mediation and billing:

  • Operators, service providers and integrators who want to build custom mediation or billing systems.
  • Editors of mediation or billing software who can extend their connectivity capabilities integrating the MARBEN CDR Collection in their own product.
  • Telecom equipment manufacturers who can embed the MARBEN CDR Collection in their own CDR collection/mediation offer.

Handling the X.25 to IP migration

Many legacy telephone switches CDR Collection interface requires FTAM over X.25. As IP replaces more and more often X.25 as a Wide Area Network and less computer manufacturers support X.25, carriers are facing the issue to migrate from an X.25 network to an IP network for collecting the charging information. Marben Products has designed solutions to allow a smooth transition between X.25 and IP. These solutions cover most migration cases, and have minimal impact on the existing infrastructure.
